Boudoir Photographer Minneapolis: A Private Studio Session

Looking for a boudoir photographer in Minneapolis? Inna Portraits is a private boudoir photography studio on East Hennepin Avenue, and every booking includes professional hair and makeup, spoken posing direction, and a same-day reveal where you see your images before you leave the building. Boudoir photography is intimate portraiture made for the person in front of the camera, not for anyone else’s approval. Our style leans refined rather than racy. Light gets sculpted, poses stay fluid, and shadow conceals about as much as it reveals. We photograph women of every age and body type, and you decide what happens to each frame afterward. If you are still working out what a boudoir session involves, start there and come back.

What Does Tasteful Boudoir Photography Actually Look Like?

Tasteful boudoir suggests more than it shows. The word carries a wide range of expectations: some people picture bold, provocative imagery, others picture something much softer. We sit closer to the soft end. Lighting is shaped to follow curves and build a dreamy, editorial mood. Sensual, not explicit, is the line we work along. Shadows add depth. Poses stay fluid rather than held, because a held pose reads as a held pose in the finished picture.

Before your shoot you choose a coverage level in writing, anywhere from fully clothed to implied nude, and nothing moves past that line on the day. One step, and most of the nerves people carry in go away. Our post on elegant versus risque boudoir styles walks through where clients usually land. Sessions get good the moment someone stops performing and starts relaxing, which for most people happens about fifteen minutes in. Our whole job is making that arrive sooner.

Your Session, From Booking Call to Same-Day Reveal

Every booking runs through the same five steps, and shoot day takes roughly four hours start to finish.

  1. Planning call. We talk through goals, comfort level, and wardrobe, then send a guide built around your personality instead of a generic checklist.
  2. Hair and makeup. A professional artist styles you on site, about the first ninety minutes of the day. Arrive with clean, dry hair and a bare face.
  3. The shoot. You are directed out loud through every pose, hands and chin included, and never rushed. Most people change outfits three or four times.
  4. Private reveal. Your images come up on screen right after the shoot, just you and Inna. No waiting weeks for a link.
  5. Ordering. You pick favorites and choose products that same afternoon, while the pictures are still fresh.

The boudoir studio sits at 308 E. Hennepin Ave, Suite C300, Minneapolis, MN 55414. It fills an entire floor with several styled sets, a door that locks, and no shared lobby, so nobody wanders through mid-session. You can see more of our downtown photo studio before you commit to anything.

Who Sees Your Photos: Privacy and Image Release

Nobody sees your images unless you sign a release. That is the entire policy, and it is worth reading in full before you book anywhere.

  • The image release is opt-in and separate from your session contract. Declining it changes nothing about your session, your pricing, or the pictures you receive.
  • You can approve specific frames instead of the whole set. Plenty of clients release two or three and keep everything else private.
  • You can withdraw permission later in writing, and we pull those boudoir images from the site and our social accounts.
  • The floor locks during a shoot. No walk-ins, no other clients in the space, no assistants you did not agree to.
  • Finished files are delivered through a password-protected gallery, never as an email attachment.

One thing we tell every client before booking: ask any studio you are considering to show you its release language in advance. A studio that hesitates is telling you something useful.

Why Clients Choose Inna Portraits

Minneapolis Photo Studio

Inna Sumra shoots every session personally and leads an all-female team, which matters more here than in any other kind of portrait work. First-timers fill most of the calendar, so the direction is written for people who have never done this and expect to be bad at it.

Four things separate a purpose-built studio from a rented Airbnb or a converted garage:

  • A space lit and furnished for this work rather than borrowed for a weekend.
  • Careful retouching on every ordered image at no extra charge. Skin gets evened, not erased, and we do not reshape bodies unless a client asks.
  • Heirloom products, including bound albums and framed wall art, built to outlast a hard drive.
  • A studio you can walk through before you book. Ask for the tour.

Her awards and designations are listed on this site if you want the paper trail rather than the pitch.

What a Session Costs and What Is Included

Sessions in the Twin Cities generally start around $399. That fee buys studio time, the beauty team, and direction. Images are purchased separately after your reveal, with collections starting at $999, and payment plans are available.

Why split it in two? Because nobody knows which pictures they want until they see them. Bundling twenty images into a package up front means most people pay for frames they would never have chosen.

The session fee covers:

  • Professional hair styling, makeup, and lashes
  • Studio time across multiple styled sets
  • Spoken posing direction from the first frame to the last
  • Your private same-day viewing appointment

It does not cover the images themselves, your clothing, or parking. Decide your product budget before shoot day so the reveal is a nice surprise instead of an expensive one. If you are still comparing studios, our guide to choosing the best boudoir photographer in Minneapolis lists the questions worth asking each one.

Start with the phone. Call (612) 200-8612 or send a note through our contact form, and we will set a free consultation to talk through dates, session type, and what you actually want out of the pictures. Consultations run about twenty minutes, and there is no pressure to book on the call.

Size 2 or size 22, the posing and lighting here are built to flatter your figure, and body-positive boudoir portraits are the standard rather than a marketing line. Clients tend to describe the whole boudoir experience as empowering, which is the entire point of doing it. If you have been comparing options for a boudoir photographer, Minneapolis has plenty, and the right one is the studio whose release language, space, and direction you genuinely trust. Come see ours. Clients drive in from Saint Paul, the western suburbs, and greater Minnesota for this, and every one of them walks out owning the images.

Boudoir Questions We Get Most

Yes, and the answer is not flattery. Angle, lighting, and posing do most of that work, which is why direction matters more than wardrobe. We work with women of all ages and every body type, and the same techniques apply across all of them.

Sessions start around $399, which covers studio time, hair, makeup, and direction. Image collections start at $999 and are chosen after your reveal. Payment plans are available. Most clients spend more than they first planned once they see prints in hand, so set a product budget early.

Yes. Every photoshoot includes professional hair styling, makeup, and lashes with our beauty team, on site, before the first frame. There is no separate styling fee.

Right after your shoot, before you leave the studio. You view the images in a private reveal and select your favorites the same afternoon.

Only you, unless you sign a release. The release is opt-in and separate from your session contract, you can approve individual frames instead of the whole set, and you can withdraw permission later in writing. Declining changes nothing about your session or your pricing.

Six to eight weeks is typical. Give it eight to ten if the images are a gift with a hard date, since albums and framed wall art take production time after you order.

One guest is welcome, and plenty of clients bring a sister or a best friend. Others do better with nobody watching. Tell us on the planning call either way so we set the room up right.
