Professional Minneapolis Photographer

Inna Portraits is a portrait studio on the third floor of 308 E Hennepin Ave in Northeast Minneapolis, and Inna Sumra is the Minneapolis photographer behind every session. She shoots each one herself. Boudoir, family, seniors, children, headshots, dance, modeling and fine art portraiture all happen in the same 4,500 square foot space.

Inna is an award winning professional photographer. She believes that all people are beautiful. No exceptions. She will uncover the beauty within every client. Whether you’re preserving the memories of childhood, celebrating your graduating high school senior, capturing a special moment with the love of your life, or stepping into a new business role, Inna knows how to bring out your best.

Lighting, timing and expression are what separate a snapshot from a portrait you still want on the wall in ten years. Not sure which session fits? Call (612) 200-8612 and talk it through before you book anything.

Who Is Inna Sumra?

Inna Sumra is the owner of the studio and the only person who shoots here. She holds master’s degrees in photography and in art, and she has the honor of being PPA’s International Photographer of the Year 2015 to 2019.

She consistently produces award winning results in children’s photography, high school senior pictures, family portraits, business head shots, and fine art portraits. Beyond portrait work she also paints in oil, acrylic and mixed media. Every painting is produced by Inna personally and not sent to hourly paid workers abroad.

Her achievements are too numerous to mention. In May 2020 her work was displayed on the cover of the Professional Photographer with a feature in the magazine. She became the second photographer in North Dakota to have her work grace the cover of that magazine, which is the voice of the profession worldwide.

Inna will capture your true spirit. Her focus isn’t on your physical appearance, it’s on your personality. That’s why she spends more time visiting with you and studying you than pushing the camera button. Her work has been shown in the USA and abroad. You’ll have portraits your family enjoys day after day. These become your legacy, and one day those heirloom pieces pass to the next generation.

We can’t freeze time. The personalized guidance session is complimentary. No commitment, no charge. One thing we tell every client before booking is that the planning conversation matters more than the camera, because a session planned around your wardrobe, your family and the room where the portrait will hang almost never has to be reshot.

Family Photos That Feel Natural

Family photos preserve connection. Moments change fast, but pictures give you something to look back on with pride. Inna’s sessions focus on comfort and warmth. No stiff posing. No forced expressions.

Every session is built to bring out interaction, laughter and real emotion. The result is a set of images that reflect your relationships and your story as a family. See how a relaxed family session runs, or look at the more formal wall portrait approach if you want something built to hang.

Branding Photos That Match Your Personality

Audiences connect with visuals. A branding appointment shows your daily work, your own style and your values in one image set. Inna works closely with professionals and creatives to produce pictures that feel authentic.

A branding set can include portraits, working shots, lifestyle settings, or simple environmental details that give context to what you do. If all you need is one clean, current frame for LinkedIn and your company bio, book business headshots instead of a full branding day.

Senior Photos To Capture the Year

Graduating is a big deal. Senior pictures should reflect the energy, interests and future goals of each student. Inna works with seniors to plan a session that feels relaxed and personal.

Outfits, backgrounds and settings are chosen to reflect personality. These aren’t standard school pictures. Bring the letter jacket, the instrument, the cleats, the dog. The props families leave at home are usually the ones that make the portrait look like the kid.

Confident Headshots That Work for You

Your headshot speaks before you do. It shows up on company websites, social platforms, email footers and publications. That single image shapes how people read you.

Careful lighting, simple direction and a focus on natural expression give you frames that hold up next to your colleagues’. Bring two or three tops in different necklines. Collar shape changes a headshot more than background color does, and most people never think about it until they see the proofs.

Fine Art Portraiture That Highlights Personal Presence

Fine art portraiture is portrait work planned, lit and composed like a painting rather than shot like a snapshot. Ours brings out your true colors in a clean, elegant style.

Inna combines her background in art and photography to produce high end pieces with a timeless feel. The result is a canvas that looks natural, polished and worth hanging. The same treatment carries into vintage portraiture and fairy portraits for anyone who wants a set built around a concept.

Dance Photography That Shows Motion and Strength

Shooting dancers takes more than timing. It takes an understanding of movement and emotion. Inna finds the frame where posture, flow and presence all meet.

Each shoot is built around your style and performance goals. Solo performer or full company, dance sessions run in Studio One, which has 16 foot ceilings plus continuous, LED and HMI lighting, so a leap fits in the frame and freezes cleanly.

Every Session Type at the Studio

Not every portrait fits the categories above. Here is the rest of what runs in the two shooting rooms:

308 E Hennepin Ave, Suite C300, Minneapolis, MN 55414
Third floor. Appointments Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 7 PM. Call (612) 200-8612.

The space covers the entire third floor, roughly 4,500 square feet, with two shooting rooms. Studio One has hardwood floors, 16 foot ceilings, skylights, permanent built in sets and a live view screen so you can see frames as they are made. Studio Two is the quieter room, built with soft textures and controlled light for boudoir and intimate work.

Private restrooms, a kitchen, a makeup room, a wardrobe area and climate control are all on the floor, and parking is close to the building. The studio isn’t available to rent, hourly or daily. Take the full studio tour before your visit.

Why Clients Keep Choosing Inna

Inna’s approach is thoughtful and clear. She listens first. Then she builds a plan that fits what the client actually wants. As an award winning photographer serving the Twin Cities, she produces work that feels intentional and complete.

Appointments are relaxed and private, one at a time, so nobody is waiting in a lobby. The one thing we ask people to settle before a session is where the finished portrait will hang, because the wall decides the crop, the orientation and the size, and that call is much harder to make after the shoot than before it.

Schedule with a Minneapolis Photographer You Can Trust

Need headshots, branding images, senior pictures or family portraits? Start with the complimentary planning conversation, then pick a date. If you already know which session you want, go straight to that page and read what to bring.

Booking takes one call or one form. Book your session with a Minneapolis photographer who spends more time on your plan than on the shutter, and bring the outfits you’re unsure about. Inna will help you decide on the day.

What People Ask Before They Book

The studio at 308 E Hennepin Ave is open by appointment only, 10 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Saturday. Call (612) 200-8612 or email to pick a time that works for you. Sessions are booked one at a time, so the whole floor is yours while you’re here.

Inna understands how you feel, and she’ll tell you she doesn’t enjoy being on the other side of the camera either. Knowing that nervousness is normal, she works to connect with every subject first. Her energy helps you relax and have fun. Photographing people is her passion, and she puts her heart into each session. She keeps working until she believes she has the real you.

She uses Rembrandt lighting, a centuries old technique named for the painter, which places a small triangle of light on the shadow side of the face. It gives depth and dimension that flat, even light can’t. The best way to understand it is to visit the studio and see the samples on the wall.

Pricing depends on the session type, how long it runs, and what’s included in your final gallery. A family session and a full fine art package aren’t priced the same way. Inna offers flexible options that reflect her experience and the care she puts into every frame. Every appointment includes planning time, a relaxed experience in front of the camera, and professionally edited images.

In the Northeast Minneapolis studio, or on location across the Twin Cities. Family sessions work well in local parks, engagement sessions suit natural light settings, and concept work usually goes better indoors where light is controlled. Inna also travels for sessions elsewhere in Minnesota and beyond.

Inna is an award winning portrait artist with more than 15 years behind the camera. Her portfolio covers headshots, maternity, boudoir, family, senior, dance and engagement work. Clients mention her calm presence and her ability to connect with people of every age.

Yes. You don’t need to know how to pose before your appointment. Inna guides each client through the whole session and draws out the expressions that actually look like you. A profile image for work or a couple’s session runs the same way: she talks, you react, she shoots.

Bring options. Inna gives wardrobe guidance on your planning call, and neutral tones, soft textures and simple pieces work well for most sessions. Loud patterns and visible logos date a portrait faster than anything else. Hang everything in the wardrobe area when you arrive and decide together.

The best way to answer that is to talk with Inna. Schedule a complimentary planning session. Once she understands your expectations she’ll set your sitting fee. To be clear, the sitting fee covers Inna’s professional fee and does not include prints. The variables are real: a head and shoulders business portrait in the studio is not the same job as a family of eight in your home, a high school senior session shot both in studio and outdoors, or a stylized masterpiece portrait of a young daughter. A short conversation gets you a number. Call the studio in Northeast Minneapolis or set up a phone call.

Whatever you’d like. Some people prefer the controlled light of the studio. Others want a casual outdoor setting. Plenty of clients do both in one booking. Talk it through with Inna and she’ll build the plan around it.

Inna answers that after your session, because every situation is different. It depends on the number of poses, clothing changes, locations and techniques used. There is no standard answer, but before you leave she will tell you when your proofs will be ready to view.

No. The studio isn’t available to rent, hourly or daily. It’s a working portrait studio, and every booking is a session with Inna.
